Dining: Bids sought on Jersey Mike’s Subs at East Bend, latest restaurant in emerging dining hub.

Jersey Mike’s Subs is joining the impressive list of restaurants opening at East Bend at 1435 Turner McCall Blvd. and Hicks Drive. Bids for the storefront are due by 5 p.m. Oct. 29. The buildout project is valued at $200,000.

Jersey Mike’s offers both cold and hot subs (including a “stickball” and a Philly). You can sample the menu here. The stores each offer a set hours schedule, 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. seven days a week.

What’s interesting: It will be competing with McAlister’s Deli, due to open in December at East Bend, as well as Panera just across the highway. You’ve got Firehouse Subs and Jimmy John’s nearby, a handful of Subways and a committed sub counter in the deli at Publix. Plus Jamwich, Doug’s Deli Downtown and other independents.

Jersey Mike’s is joining Panda Express and Chipotle (now open), Texas Road House (December), McAlister’s Deli (December), Fazoli’s, Egg’s Up Grill and a few other players at East Bend.
