This week: Floyd Commission, Rome BOE meet today. Rome-Floyd Board of Adjustments to discuss setback variances for new restaurant.

Tuesday:  The Floyd County Board of Commissioners will meet in the Community Room, Suite 206, on the second floor of the Floyd County Administration Building, 12 East 4th Avenue, Rome. Caucus will begin at 4 p.m. in the Commissioners Caucus Room, Suite 204, followed by the Board Meeting at 6 p.m.  The meetings are open to the public.  Everyone in attendance is asked to wear a mask and to practice social distancing.  Agenda

Tuesday: The Rome City Board of Education will meet at Main Elementary School for their monthly meeting. The caucus will be held at 4 p.m. in the Media Center at Main Elementary School and the regular meeting will start at 5:45 p.m. in the Cafeteria at Main Elementary School. All attendees will be required to wear a face covering and will be subject to temperature screenings. Agenda
Thursday: The Rome-Floyd Board of Adjustments will be meeting at 2:30 p.m. in Sam King Room at City Hall. Agenda
  • On the agenda will be request for setbacks along Turner McCall Boulevard, East 7th Street and Holmes Road for a proposed new restaurant at the site of the former Long John Silvers at 1603 Turner McCall Blvd. R.H. Ledbetter Properties, LLC along with owner Ronald B. Maggard, Sr., Trustee of the Ronald Maggard Revocable Trust are applying for the variance. Background
