A ribbon cutting was held Wednesday morning for the Mount Berry Trail, which is accessed off Coligni Way behind the U.S. Post Office on Martha Berry. Mayor Bill Collins did the honors. The trail follows the Oostanaula River up to Big Dry Creek and crosses under the Bypass, running 1.8 miles. Spriggs Construction completed the paving of the trail in August. It was founded as a joint 2013 SPLOST project between the city and TRED of Rome/Floyd County.
