Crewmates at Rome/Floyd Fire Department are being credited today with helping save one of their own Monday evening. Colleagues say Cpl. Kyle Ashley suffered a massive heart attack on duty. “Quick actions of his crew saved his life. Kyle is now resting comfortably in the hospital,” the fire department shares in a Facebook post Tuesday morning. We’re checking on his condition at Floyd Medical Center and have calls into Fire Chief Troy Brock for additional comment. The Facebook post closes with: “Please pray for a speedy recovery for Kyle. Kyle is a great asset to our department and more importantly a valued member of our fire family.”
