Business: Home sales drop in August in Floyd, Bartow, Gordon counties vs. July and a year earlier. 319 closings last month vs. 348 in July.

 

Realtors in Floyd, Bartow and Gordon counties together sold 319 homes in August, down from 348 homes in July with Floyd and Gordon both reporting dips vs. August 2019 as well.

The Greater Rome Board of Realtors reports 107 homes sold last month, down 18.3 percent; while Bartow’s 154 units sold was up 2.7 percent and Gordon’s 58 homes represented a dip of 7.9 percent.

A county-by-county breakdown on August sales patterns is below. The recent trends:

Realtors in Floyd, Bartow and Gordon counties together sold 348 homes in July with each county reporting overall sales increases from 7.4 percent to 15.8 percent.

June sales (121 homes in Floyd, up 13.1 percent) were a big improvement from the post-pandemic reports from April and May. Realtors in all three counties sold 228 homes in April and 252 in May, both lower than the same months in 2019.

The data comes from the Greater Rome Board of Realtors and the Northwest Metro Association of Realtors.

Floyd County | August 2020

  • Total single family home sales: 107 (18.3% decrease)
  • Median sales price: $205,500 (24.7% increase)
  • Average sales price: $209,000 (8.6% increase)
  • Total active listings: 200 (41.2% decrease)
  • New listings: 144 (4.6% decrease)
  • Month’s Supply: 2.1 (40.6% decrease)

Bartow County | August 2020

  • Total single family home sales: 154 (2.7% increase)
  • Median sales price: $233,500 (15.6% increase)
  • Average sales price: $276,000 (19% increase)
  • Total active listings: 208 (45.7% decrease)
  • New listings: 167 (16.5% decrease)
  • Month’s Supply: 1.5 (48.7% decrease)

Gordon County | August 2020

  • Total single family home sales: 58 (7.9% decrease)
  • Median sales price: $188,500 (14.9% increase)
  • Average sales price: $205,000 (1% decrease)
  • Total active listings: 83 (53.6% decrease)
  • New listings: 80 (11.1% increase)
  • Month’s Supply: 1.6 (60.3% decrease)
