Another Chattooga resident dies from coronavirus, fifth this week and 12th since pandemic began. 127 more positive tests in NW Georgia.

 

Friday: 

  • Another death in Chattooga County through Friday. That’s 12 fatalities since March 15; regional total now 184.
  • 127 new positive cases in Northwest Georgia since Thursday. Total to date: 9,528.
  • 64 deaths reported statewide since Thursday. Statewide total now at 6,537. Daily record: 122 deaths on Aug. 11.
  • State positive cases: 302,737, up 1,807. The state record for the pandemic, 4,813 on July 24.
  • Friday: 62 COVID patients in Rome, Cartersville and Calhoun hospitals; seven awaiting test results.

HOSPITAL REPORTS

Friday: 62 patients in Rome, Cartersville, Calhoun. 

  • Floyd: 21 patients; up two; no patients awaiting test results.
  • Redmond Regional: 21 patients; no change; two awaiting test results.
  • Cartersville Medical Center: 11 patients, down two; one awaiting test results. (Sept. 19).
  • Advent Health Gordon: 9 patients; down two; four awaiting test results (Sept. 17).
  • Regional total: 62.
  • Statewide: Daily record: 3,200 on July 30.

Hospitalizations (cumulative since Feb. 29):

  • Floyd: 218. up 1.
  • Bartow: 269, up 1.
  • Gordon: 109.
  • Polk: 95, up 2.
  • Chattooga: 50.
  • Regional total: 741.

DEATHS  (since March 15).

  • Floyd: 39.
  • Bartow: 81.
  • Gordon: 35.
  • Polk: 17.
  • Chattooga: 12, up 1.
  • Regional total: 184.

POSITIVE TESTS (since Feb. 29, latest change to the right):

  • Floyd:  2,902, up 61.
  • Bartow: 2,779, up 17.
  • Gordon: 1,751 up 12.
  • Polk: 1,387, up 13.
  • Chattooga: 709, up 15.
  • Regional total: 9,528, up 127.

Free COVID-19 tests: Public Health testing locations and days of the tests. The tests are drive-up and no appointments are needed.

  • Floyd County: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; first and third Saturdays, Coosa Valley Fairgrounds, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
  • Bartow County: Monday, Thursday and Friday, plus second, third and fourth Saturdays, The Church at Liberty Square, 2001 Liberty Square Drive, Cartersville, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Bartow site closes at 4 p.m. Mondays.
  • Gordon County: Tuesday and Wednesday, plus first Saturday, Senior Center, 150 Cambridge Court, Calhoun, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
  • Chattooga County: Tuesday and second and fourth Saturdays, North Summerville Baptist Church, 119 Maplewood Drive, Summerville. 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
  • Polk County: Tuesday as well as the fourth Saturday, former Department of Labor office, 262 N. Park Blvd., Cedartown, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

  • Highlands Senior Living, 12 resident cases, 2 deaths, 26 total resident tests, 7 staff cases.
  • Maple Ridge Health Care, 27 resident cases, 9 fatalities,19 recoveries, 85 total resident tests, 6 staff cases.
