Mrs. Mardell L. Morgan, age 75, of Summerville, died September 10, 2020, at a local health care facility.
Mrs. Morgan was born on March 1, 1945, in Walker County, GA. to the late Clyde and Mamie Smith Sprayberry. She was a member of Silver Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Bobby Morgan, daughter, Patty Morgan, Sisters, Callie Dennis, Shirley O’neal, and Betty Gean Momon, brothers, Herbert Sprayberry, Clyde Sprayberry, John Sprayberry and Hugh Sprayberry.
Survivors include, her husband of 58 years, Mr. Thomas L. Morgan, a son James L. Morgan, (Judy), a daughter, Jennifer L. Jernigan, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Brittany Brown, Annslynn Brown, Kohner Brown, Aaron Jernigan, Aleigha Young, Axel Jernigan, Sara & Tyler Owens, Aiden Jernigan, and Timothy Sprayberry. Mrs. Morgan is also survived by a brother, Bob Sprayberry, and several nieces and nephews.
Services for Mrs. Morgan will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, Sept.14, 2020, at Silver Hill Baptist Church, in the Gore-Subligna community, at 2PM. With the, Rev. Barry Brown, officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 12 noon until the funeral hour.

Mrs. Betty J. KcKay, 87, of Centre, Alabama, died Saturday evening, September 12, 2020, in a Rome hospital.
The former Betty Jo Grogan, Mrs. McKay was born December 22, 1932 in Lineville, Alabama, a daughter of the late Henry Dewell Grogan and the late Mary Ellender Smith Grogan.
Over a span of several years, Mrs. McKay and her husband built their home together just outside of Cave Spring, and made their home there for many years. She had been active member of the Cave Spring United Methodist Church for over 40 years.
Mrs. McKay was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Julius Benson (Buddy) McKay on December 29, 2009, by her sister, Mrs. Helen J. Grogan Carr, and by her brother, Charles W. Grogan.
Survivors include her son, Michael B. McKay, and his wife Melody of Hendersonville, NC and her daughter, Miss Rebecca S. McKay of Centre. Two grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
In keeping with her wishes, Mrs. McKay was cremated, and due to the Covid-19 pandemic no formal services are planned at this time.
