OUTLOOK

Slight rain chance later this afternoon, high near 89. Keep an eye on Tropical Storm Sally that is making its way towards the Gulf Coast near Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. We could see some severe weather and numerous showers later in the week between Wednesday and Friday. As of midday Sunday, the forecast calls for up to two inches of rain in Northwest Georgia between 10 p.m. Wednesday and midday Friday.

Our thanks to Brian Dulaney for this incredible photo from the Kingston Down area in eastern Floyd County on Saturday afternoon. We’ve got lots of rain moving in late Wednesday as Tropical Storm Sally is expected to fall apart and move through our area through late Thursday.
