Health: Berry’s Dr. Christopher Hall, an immunology expert, joins GHC’s Community Watch to discuss how critical the right masks are in preventing the spread.

Dr. Christopher Hall, Biology professor at Berry College, joined Georgia Highlands’ Community Watch on Monday to discuss the science of masks, mask myths, herd immunity, and other current COVID issues.

Hall was interviewed by hosts Dr. Jon Hershey and Greg Shropshire. Hall earned his Ph.D. in Immunology/Cellular Biology from the University of Georgia in 2000 and has development more than a dozen courses on disease and immunology. He likewise belongs to a host of related associations and has dozens of honors for his research.

He talked about masks, including the prevention of spreading coronavirus to others — and others to us. Hall talked about mask designs and how some indeed offer better protection. I’m not a big fan of those you can see through; it’s almost like ‘What’s the point?'” He praised the N95 masks, mostly used by healthcare workers. Masks, he said, “have proven significant to preventing the spread.”
