NW Georgia sees highest weekly number of new cases in last 7 days since March with 930 new cases. Slight decline in statewide cases with 2,515 in last 24 hours statewide with 82 new deaths, none locally.


Thursday:

  • Northwest Georgia sees highest weekly number of cases in last week since March 23 with 930 new cases between Aug. 6-13. 
  • Today: 120 new positive cases in Northwest Georgia including 44 in Floyd, 24 in Polk, 21 in Gordon, and 15 in Bartow. 
  • Slight decline in number of new cases statewide with 2,515 positive tests in last 24 hours, down from 3,565 yesterday. 
  • Another 82 new deaths reported since Wednesday, again no new deaths in Northwest Georgia. Statewide total at 4,538 deaths. Record: 122 deaths on Aug. 11.
  • State positive cases: 228,668, up 2,515. The state record for the pandemic, 4,813 on July 24.

  • Redmond Regional: 27 patients, up 3; none awaiting results.

  • Advent Health Gordon: 13 patients, down 13; 5 awaiting test results (Tuesday).
  • Regional total: 93.
