Mrs. Faye Annie Rowland Beard, age 91, of Rome, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at her residence.
Mrs. Beard was born in Jasper, GA on August 10, 1928, daughter of the late Lewis Rowland and the late Grace Rudell Rowland. She was a member of Wilkerson Road Baptist Church where she was a member of W.M.U. and a vocalist. She also served as the church secretary and former president of W.M.U. Mrs. Beard loved spending time with her family, attending church and church activities. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Henry Beard, to whom she married on December 22, 1951; a son, Rodney Eugene Beard; a daughter, Donna June Bailey; 3 sisters and 5 brothers.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Janis and Charles Worley; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Darlene Beard, Alan Beard, and Brian and Mary Beard, all of Rome; twelve grandchildren, Brandy Hollis (David), Rhianna Bailey (Lily), Krushinda Brannon (Steven), Chase Worley (Kerry), Brittni Beard (Matt), Makayla Case (Troy), Kaycee Beard (Pablo), Megan Heckman (Zach), Hunter Beard, Nicholas Beard (Abi), Jacob Beard and Logan Beard; eleven great grandchildren; sister, Joyce Harris; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 31, 2020, at 11:00am in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, with the Rev. Milford Williams and Johnny Peoples officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 9:00 am until the service time.
The following men have been asked to serve as Pallbearers and are requested to meet on Friday at 10:30 am and include: Donnie Upshaw, Hunter Beard, Troy Ferguson, Chase Worley, Pablo Martinez, Zach Heckman and Larry Broome.

Mrs. Shirley Ann Bailey, age 85, of Rome, GA, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.
Shirley was born in Adairsville, GA, on June 29, 1935, the daughter of Herschel Robert Clark and Mattie Lee Higgins Clark. She had been a resident of Rome and Floyd County the greater part of her life. Shirley was a housewife and homemaker and a faithful member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, traveling around the United States with her love and spending time with family. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Clark.
Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Charles Norman Bailey, whom she married November 5, 1954; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Michael Kelley of Rome; son, Kevin Bailey of Dallas, TX; two granddaughters, Kristina (Ryan) Tucker, and Lauren (Nathan) Hui, all of Rome; great-grandchildren, Lindsey Kelley, Avery Hui, Bryson Tucker, and expecting the arrival of Remi Hui any day. A brother and sister-in-law, Wallace and Rita Clark of Adairsville, and a lifetime friend, Faye Hicks, also survive.
Funeral services for Shirley will be Friday afternoon, July 31, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Salmon Funeral Home with Pastor Brady Fortenberry officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. Social distancing will be followed in accordance with CDC guidelines.
Shirley will lie in-state from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P.M.
Pallbearers are asked to meet by 1:30 p.m. and include Edward Clark, Nick Clark, Christopher Clark, Greg Clark, Greg Alexander, Ryan Tucker and Nathan Hui.
