Business: Carquest Auto Parts on the move from Fifth Avenue to Berry Crossing. Interest in restaurant site?

Carquest Auto Parts Co. is on the move, leaving 309 N. Fifth Ave. to the new building on the Berry Crossing project behind CVS and off the Bypass. It will soon occupy 60 Redmond Road in a recently completed building by property owners Two Old Tigers LLC.  The deal was handled by Hardy Realty.

The retail center, just off Martha Berry and the Bypass, has seen a rise in interest because, in part, of the arrival of The Spires at Berry College and other development in the area.

A late February look at the in-progress work on Brian Dulaney’s 4,800-square-foot building at corner of Martha Berry Boulevard and Redmond Road next to CVS. Coming soon: Carquest Auto Parts.

No official word yet on what to expect back on North Five Avenue once the move is complete. It is part of the River District which is being heavily promoted for redevelopment.

Interest in former Fuddruckers? Keep an eye for changes at Riverside Parkway and the Bypass, just down from Berry Crossing. Word on the street is that there are some major nibbles under way on the site. The restaurant closed in early March and has been on the market since, the latest asking price just at $1.5 million, according to the listing with Hardy Realty.
