Ware Mechanical Weather Center update: Thunderstorms bring down trees in Floyd and Bartow.

Strong and some severe thunderstorms moved through Northwest Georgia Saturday evening. The National Weather Service reports multiple trees down from thunderstorm wind damage in Floyd and Bartow counties including:

  • Tree down on Shannon Circle (Floyd)
  • Tree down on Chulio Road (Floyd)
  • Trees down on power lines in 200 block of Tant Road (Bartow)
  • Tree down on power line in 100 block of Rodgers Cut Off (Bartow)
  • Tree down in roadway at Cassville Road and James Avenue (Bartow)
  • Tree down in roadway at Cedar Creek Road and Crow Springs Road.

FORECAST

Tonight: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

Sunday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 92. Heat index values as high as 98. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph.

Sunday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 9pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 71. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm.
