Mrs. Shirley Jean Whipple, age 82, of Cartersville, GA, passed away Wednesday afternoon, July 22, 2020, at Cartersville Medical Center.
Mrs. Whipple was born in Floyd County, GA on December 11, 1937, daughter of the late James Henry Sanders and the late Louise Vernae Steward Sanders. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Jeanette Crump, by a niece, Tammy Trammell, and by a nephew, Gavin Crump. A retired Master Cosmetologist, Mrs. Whipple formerly owned and operated Super Hair in Rome for several years. She was a long-time member of TOPS Club and was a member of Missoula Valley Church of Christ in Missoula, Montana. She was adored and loved by her husband, family and friends. Everyone that knew her loved her fun, kind, and adventurous youthful “free spirit.”
Survivors include her husband, Jay Burke Whipple, Cartersville; her 4 children, Jimmy Stansell, Cartersville, Vanessa Stansell (Kim), Cedar Bluff, AL, Dr. Partrece Ballew (Rick), Woodstock, and Chrispin Stansell (Tammy), Silver Creek; 5 grandchildren, Jeremy Swafford, Brandy Swafford, Collin Adams, Ava Adams, and Isabella Adams; a great grandchild, Alex McGee; a niece, VeeVee Reilly.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2020, at 3pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Pastor Jeff Hickman officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1pm until the service hour. Social distancing guidelines will be followed.
Mrs. Miriam Reynolds, age 66, of Rome, Ga. transitioned July 20, 2020. Celebration of Life for Mrs. Miriam Reynolds will be Monday, July 27, 2020 at 1 pm at F. K. Jones Funeral Home in Historic Peek Chapel. Please allow the family time to share together.
Public viewing for Mrs. Reynolds will be Sunday, July 26, 2020 from 2 pm until 6 pm and Monday, July 27, 2020 from 10 am until the funeral hour.
All services will follow the mandated guidelines set in place by State and Federal Agencies for social distance.

Mr. James Joseph Sorber, age 80, of Rome, GA, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2020.
Mr. Sorber was born in Larksville, Pennsylvania on January 8, 1940, son of the late Miriam Sipple Sorber and the late Doyle Sorber. Mr. Sorber was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Prior to his retirement, he was owner and President of Shower Doors Unlimited, Inc. James graduated from Rutgers University where he received a Design Engineer Degree. He served our country in the U. S. Air Force, with the Strategic Air Command unit.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Linda Sorber; children, Zoe Zagorski, Jennifer Kolatac (Michael), Kim Miller (Glenn), Jamie Sorber; grandchildren, Trinty Sorber, Olivia Kolatac, Evan Miller, Kaya Sorber, Brooke Miller, and Serene Sorber.
A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date.

Barbra Jarrell Hall, age 60, of Rome passed away Wednesday July 22, 2020 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Hall was born September 20, 1959, in Landstuhl, Germany a daughter of the late Jerry Eugene Jarrell, and Helga Hach Jarrell. She was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include, her husband, Bruce Hall, daughter Brooke (Riley Hewitt) Hall, grandchildren, Caslyn Hewitt, Cecily Hewitt, sister, Regina (Steve) Freeman.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday July 28, 2020 at Floyd Memory Gardens, with Mark Harrison, officiating.
