Ms. Betty Drummond Burkhalter, age 91, of Rome, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2020, at a healthcare facility in Cartersville, GA.
Ms. Burkhalter was born in Polk County, GA on August 26, 1928, daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin “B.F.” Drummond and the late Nora Cornett Drummond. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Stella Isham, a brother, Cecil Drummond, and by a very special friend, R.D. Brock. Prior to her retirement, Ms. Burkhalter was employed by A & P Food Stores for over 25 years. She was a member of East Rome Baptist Church and had a passion for Southern Gospel music.
Survivors include her 2 sons, David Burkhalter (Robin), Trion, and Danny Burkhalter, Lindale; 2 grand0children, Jesse Burkhalter (Julie), Cedartown, and Lauren Burkhalter-Nelson (Antwane), Dallas; a great-grandson, Kellen Anderson, Dallas; a nephew, Darryl Isham (Dorothy), Chattanooga, TN; and a niece, Gayle Middleton (Mickey), Silver Creek.
Funeral Services for Ms. Burkhalter will be held at 11am on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Clifford Free and the Rev. Terry Shores officiating. Social distancing guidelines will be followed. Interment will follow at Rome Memorial Park.
Mrs. Burkhalter will lie in state on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, from 10am until 10:45am.
Pallbearers are requested to assemble on Wednesday at 10:30am and include; David Burkhalter, Danny Burkhalter, Jesse Burkhalter, Kellen Anderson, Danny Isham and Henry Jackson.
Mr. P.C. Chambers, age 92 Calhoun, Georgia, died July 15, 2020, a day after his birthday. .
Homegoing service will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 11:00 am on the lawn at Wright Memorial Mortuary, Inc. Bishop Claude Jones will be officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church cemetery , in Woodsbend, Alabama.
The family received friends Monday evening.
All services will be private in accordance with state and federal guidelines.

Louise Richolson Shaw, 66, of Rome, GA, passed away on July 15. She was a dedicated animal lover and pet sitter for five years in the Rome area.
Born in Newport, Ark. March 15, 1954, she was a 1972 graduate of Newport High School. Louise was a talented young dancer and ballerina who attended Interlochen Center for the Arts in Traverse City, MI. She previously trained at Bobbie Harper’s Dance Studio in Newport, and continued her training at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Okla. Louise also studied with the Atlanta Ballet. Louise worked at the University of California at Irvine for about 20 years.
Louise was survived by her parents, Orville and Betty Richolson of Newport, Ark.; her sister, Norine Tribbey of San Antonio, Texas; and brother, Austin W. Richolson of Newport. Louise is survived by her sister, Sally Hasco of Alpharetta, Ga., and brother, Rick (Bernice) Richolson of Mount Dora, Fla.; brother-in-law, Terry Tribbey of San Antonio; nephews, Wesley Tribbey of San Antonio, Ashley Tribbey of San Antonio; and Keith Hasco of Alpharetta; great nieces and nephews, Macy and Nolan Tribbey, and Will and Daisy Tribbey.
