Buzz: Georgia bar exam canceled for Sept. 9-10. City, county meetings for today through Thursday.

 

Chief Justice Harold D. Melton announces the Supreme Court of Georgia has canceled the in-person Georgia bar examination that was scheduled for Sept. 9-10 at the Georgia International Convention Center. Due to public health concerns during the pandemic, an online exam will be administered Oct. 5-6 in its place. At that time, applicants will have the opportunity to take the test for licensure to practice law in Georgia. Details about the online exam will be released soon and will be available on the Office of Bar Admissions website (www.gabaradmissions.org).


Meetings:

 

  • Public Safety Committee meeting is set for 2 this afternoon in the Sam King Room at City Hall in Rome.
  • The Floyd County Board of Commissioners Public Works Committee will meet on Wednesday, July 22, at 8 a.m. in the ballroom at the Forum River Center in downtown Rome.  The meeting is open to the public.
  • The Floyd County Board of Commissioners Admin and Finance Committee will meet on Thursday, July 23,  at 8 a.m. in the ballroom at the Forum River Center in downtown Rome.  The meeting is open to the public.
