State’s positive test count climbs by 2,826, up to 93,319. Only one death statewide in 24 hours. Another 41 positive tests in Northwest Georgia, decrease from Friday’s record.

 

Decrease in Northwest Georgia positive test results after Friday’s record day. Total of 41 positive tests on Saturday, half of Friday’s 82, that’s 123 in last two days. 

Total of 2,085 posts tests through Satruday. The county-by-county increases from Friday to Saturday show:

  • Floyd County: Up 4, from 582 to 586.
  • Bartow County: 765, up 23 in 24 hours.
  • Gordon County: 7 more positive tests, from 429 to 436.
  • Polk County: 7 new cases, from 224 to 231.
  • Chattooga County: No new cases, remains at 67.
  • Statewide: 2,826 new cases, now at 93,319.

Hospital reports: 18 virus patients at Floyd, Redmond as of Thursday. State: 1,726 now hospitalized (through Saturday). 

  • Floyd: 14 patients testing positive; none awaiting tests.
  • Redmond Regional: 4 patients testing positive; none awaiting results.
  • In context: On April 19, Floyd reported 13 patients testing positive while Redmond had eight for a total of 21. Together, they had another 21 patients awaiting test results. The total dropped to two patients on June 2 but started to climb again on June 3.
  • Statewide: 1,726, up 55 since Friday.

Long-term Care Facility Reports: No Long-Term Care facility COVID-19 report will be posted July 3, 2020 due to holiday. DCH will resume reporting activity Monday, July 6, 2020.

  • Polk County: The Health Department, 125 E. Ware St., Cedartown. Call 770-749-2270.
  • Gordon County: The Health Department at 310 N. River St. in Calhoun is doing free daily testing Monday through Thursday from 1 until 4 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
  • CVS has two test sites in Rome: The stores are at 1201 Turner McCall Blvd., and 1915 Maple Ave. SE.

FLOYD COUNTY

  • Deaths: 15. (per the state; the coroner’s office says 20 have died of coronavirus since March when the count started; several patients — say in nursing homes — will be “counted” in their home counties and not Floyd).
  • Positive tests:  586, up 4.
  • Hospitalizations: 56.

  • Chulio Hills Health and Rehabilitation, 2 residents, 1 fatality, 0 residents recovered, 142 total resident tests, 6 staff cases.
  • Evergreen Health, 1 patient, 88 total resident tests, 2 staff cases.
  • Fifth Avenue Health, 6 patients, 6 patients recovered, 103 total resident tests, 6 staff.
  • Pruitt Health, Three Mile, 109 total resident tests, 2 staff cases.
  • Rome Health and Rehabilitation, 25 resident cases, 20 residents recovered, 5 fatalities, 102 total resident tests, 38 staff cases.

  • Deaths: 42.
  • Positive tests:  765, up 23.

  • Fountains in Cartersville, 3 patients, no total resident test reports, 3 patients recovered, 2 staff.

  • Maple Ridge Health Care, 27 resident cases, 9 fatalities,18 recoveries, 60 total resident tests, 6 staff cases.
  • Townsend Park Health Care, 55 resident cases, 13 fatalities, 38 recoveries, 104 total resident tests19 staff cases.
  • Tranquility at Cartersville, 2 resident cases.

GORDON COUNTY

  • Deaths:  18.
  • Positive tests: 436, up 7.
  • Hospitalizations: 44.

Long-term care facilities:

  • Calhoun Health Care Center, 53 resident cases, 11 deaths, 42 recoveries, 88 total resident tests, and 16 staff cases.
  • Gordon Health and Rehabilitation, 115 total resident tests, 9 staff cases.

POLK COUNTY

  • Deaths: 2 (Friday’s report says one; we’re checking with the state).
  • Positive tests: 231, up 7.
  • Hospitalizations: 16.

Long-term care facilities:

  • Cedar Springs Health and Rehab, 67 total resident tests, 1 staffer.
  • Cedar Valley Nursing and Rehab Center, 92 total resident tests, 1 staffer.
  • Rockmart Health: 1 resident, 38 total resident tests, 1 recovery, 1 staffer.

CHATTOOGA COUNTY

  • Deaths: 2.
  • Positive tests: 67, no change.
  • Hospitalizations: 4.
