8 p.m. update: Georgia Power reports 581 customers still without power in East Rome area. Expected restoration is 12:15 a.m.

A large tree is down on power lines on East 8th Street between Turner McCall Boulevard and Lee Avenue on Friday evening. As of 7 p.m., crews are working now to remove the tree and repair power lines. Traffic lights are out on Turner McCall Boulevard and Second Avenue. Georgia Power reports 899 customers are impacted by the outages. Estimated restoration time is 8:15 p.m. Use caution in the area.
