Mrs. Willodean Cooper Treglown, age 85, of Lindale, GA, passed away Monday, June 22, 2020, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Treglown was born in DeKalb County, AL on July 9, 1934, daughter of the late Stanton Cooper and the late Emmie Lee Bowman Bennett. She was also preceded in death by a great grandson, Charlie Cooper Wright, by her step-father, Arthur Bennett, and by a brother, Bill Bennett. Mrs. Treglown retired from Galey & Lord, Inc. following several years of employment. She was a member of Lindale Church of God.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Gene Treglown, to whom she was married on August 14, 1955; 3 daughters, Cathy Johnson (David), Silver Creek, Kay Adkison (Billy), Hiram, and Brenda Kulczak, North Port, FL; a son, Brad Treglown (Dori), Silver Creek; 2 sisters, Charlotte Darn, Armuchee, and Helen Gale, Hiram; 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 26, 2020, at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. John Moates and the Rev. Glyn Davis, Sr. officiating. Social distancing guidelines will be followed. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Friday from 12 noon until the service hour. Social distancing guidelines will be followed.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Charles W. “Buddy” Steadman, age 87, of Rome, GA, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2020, at his residence.
Mr. Steadman was born in Rome, GA on January 2, 1933, the son of the late Thomas Lee Steadman and the late Jessie Victoria Mathis Steadman. He worked for Complete Auto Transit in Doraville, GA for 40 years before retiring. He served his country in the United States Air Force. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Sue Steadman.
He is survived by his daughters, Peggy Sue Decker (Danny) of Summerville, Marsha Lea Watkins (Bobby) of Cartersville and Mariea Jo Chamlee of Summerville; his grandchildren, Ashley Decker, Jared Decker (Charity), Abigail Decker, Jesse Watkins (Alex), Ellie Coulter (Chaz), Stephen Chamlee and Courtney Watkins (A.J.); eleven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, with Pastor Danny Decker officiating. Social distancing guidelines will be followed. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with the American Legion Post #5 Honor Guard presenting military honors.
Mr. Steadman will lie in state at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, on Thursday, June 25, 2020 from 12 pm until the service time. Social distancing guidelines will be followed.
Pallbearers are asked to assemble at the funeral home on Thursday at 1:30 pm and include: Stephen Chamlee, Jared Decker, Jesse Watkins, Bobby Watkins, A.J. Watkins and Chaz Coulter.
Mrs. Eleanor Ann Lankford Williams, age 85, of Rome, GA, passed away Tuesday morning, June 23, 2020, in a local assisted living facility.
Mrs. Williams was born in Lindale, GA on January 11, 1935, daughter of the late Richard and Rushie Ross Lankford. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Williams, by a sister, Nona Lankford Bailey, and by 2 brothers, Ross and Clyde Lankford.
Mrs. Williams was a member of the first graduating class at Pepperell High School in 1952. A homemaker until her children were grown, Mrs. Williams was employed for several years with Kmart here in Rome. She was a member of Garden Lakes Baptist Church. Music was an important part of her life and she served as the pianist for the Senior Adult Choir and in children’s musicals at her church. She also volunteered to play at nursing homes. She was a longtime Elvis Presley fan.
Survivors include her daughter, Melanie Early (Jeff), Cave Spring; her son, Terry Williams, Cave Spring; 2 grandchildren, Hannah Gonzales (Tyler), Rome, and Leah Early, Cave Spring; a great grandchild, Riley Baker, Rome; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2020, at 12 noon at Garden Lakes Baptist Church with Dr. Jimmy Gentry officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Garden Lakes Baptist Church on Thursday from 11 until 11:45am.
Marjorie Elaine “Penny” Wright McCord, age 80, of Centre, passed away Monday June 22, 2020 in a Rome hospital.
Mrs. McCord was born February 11, 1940, in Cherokee County, Alabama a daughter of the late Gordon and Eva Harris Wright. She was a member of New Nazareth Baptist Church. She was employed by Sew Sew Styles, Crider’s Gorcey, and retired from Redmond Regional Medical Center where she won the Dr. Frist Award. Mrs. McCord was preceded in death by a brothers, George, Buck, Sidney Wright.
Survivor include her husband, Bobby McCord, son, Tim (Tina) McCord, daughter, Angie (Johnny) Powell, grandchildren, Jake McCord, Jessica McCord, Cody (Morgan) Powell, brother, David “Skip” Wright, sisters, Gail Ferguson, Susan McCullars, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM (Ala. Time) Thursday at New Nazareth Baptist Church , with Rev. Ted Elrod, Rev. Doyle Kerr, Rev. Herbert Reed, and Rev. Barry Kerr, officiating. Interment will follow in New Nazareth Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 (Ala. Time) on Wednesday at New Nazareth Baptist Church.
Pallbearers include, Johnny Powell, Cody Powell, Randall Crider, Jeff Burke, Don McCord, Sammy Wright, Dennis Wright, and Jeff Holcomb.
