Bartow’s hotel boom is continuing especially, at the entrances to Cartersville. And Calhoun has a few new players on the way.
Perhaps most visible is the Courtyard by Marriott nearing completion adjacent to the Clarence Brown Conference Center across from the Bartow campus of Georgia Highlands College. It will feature 117 rooms, according to the post below from Cartersville-Bartow County Economic Development. It is the second hotel in recent years in the area; the first, the Holiday Inn Express at the Ga. 20 exit onto I-75.
One exit south, in the growing hotel cluster at the Main Street exit, you’ll see the new Tru rising, the latest in a cluster of hotels just above LakePoint Sports in Emerson and close to Main Street Marketplace anchored by Kroger. They include Home2Suite from Hliton and Fairfield Inn & Suites.
Horizon Hospitality Management, which is behind the new Tru location, hopes to open the hotel in the fourth quarter of this year.
Horizon, based in Alpharetta, has been busy in Calhoun as well with plans to open a Home2Suites there in the third quarter and a Townplace Suites later in the year.
