Media release: The Unity Christian School administrative team has been diligently working to create a return to school plan for the 2020-2021 academic year. At this time, the school plans for students to return to school on Aug. 10, 2020 for daily in-person instruction. Unity continues to be guided by its foundational purpose of partnering with Christian families to propel students toward excellence in academics, leadership, and service, and to develop wise and eloquent thinkers and lifelong learners in a safe and caring environment.

In order to achieve our goal of re-opening, Unity has carefully considered guidance from the following organizations:

  • Local and state authorities
  • Center for Disease Control
  • Local health officials
  • Governor Kemp’s Education Commission
  • Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI)
  • Atlanta Christian School Association (ACSA)
  • Georgia Association of Private and Parochial Schools (GAPPS)

Parents will notice some changes in daily protocols, including but not limited to:

  • Temperature checks
  • Water fountain conversions to bottle-fill stations
  • Intensified cleaning regimens
  • Carline adaptations
  • Classroom arrangements with space considerations
  • Multiple indoor and outdoor play zones
  • New outdoor learning spaces
  • Lunch and chapel alterations

Unity Christian School plans to release a comprehensive plan on July 15. These policies and procedures will be re-evaluated regularly and adjusted should the virus worsen or should conditions improve.
