The third consecutive ‘We Matter: A Peaceful Protest’ took place Sunday from 3-5 p.m., Rome City Hall. Witness say the crowd of about 100 or more spanned corner to corner in front of City Hall. Thunderstorms moved through the area during the last hour of the event.

The event was again organized by Candice Spivey to “honor the life of George Floyd and the many others whose lives were wrongfully taken by law enforcement…we will also be standing for justice to be served for Vanita Richardson and Truvenia Campbell, local women who were killed weeks ago and their cases are still open.”

Let’s Talk Race, a conversation celebrating unity in diversity between Apostle Rondie Goode and Pastor Jason Stockton of Life Church, was held Saturday at the Rome City Auditorium. Click here to watch the Facebook live stream of the event.

Following the forum, a Prayer Rally for Our Nation was held at the Town Green. The event featured praise music, speakers and prayer.
