State Patrol: Two men killed in Bartow County crash early Friday involving motorcycle and ATV.

Two men from Bartow County died in a bizarre crash early Friday morning on Glade Road, according to the Georgia State Patrol. The victims have been identified as Shawn Hendon, 28, of Acworth and Larry Murray, 37, of Cartersville.

From Georgia State Patrol: On Friday, May 22, at approximately 4:15 a.m., Vehicle 1 (motorcycle) was traveling north on Glade Rd. Vehicle 2 (ATV) was traveling south on Glade Rd. Driver 1 and driver 2 both failed to maintain their lanes, and entered into the center of Glade Rd. Vehicle 1 struck the front of vehicle 2, after impact Vehicle 1 continued to travel north coming to final uncontrolled rest on its right side in the right lane. Vehicle 2 continued to travel south coming to final uncontrolled rest in the left lane facing east. Both drivers were not wearing the proper protective equipment at the time of the crash nor did both vehicles have proper working headlights or tail lights . Area of impact was determined by roadway debris and final rest of both vehicles. Both drivers were fatally injured. The report is not complete.

Driver 1 – Shawn Hendon, age 28 of Acworth, was fatally injured.
Driver 2 – Larry Murray, age 37 of Cartersville, was fatally injured.
