Coosa High School held their drive-through graduation ceremony for the Class of 2020 on Saturday evening. The 145 members of Coosa’s senior class and their families each drove through the school parking lot, getting out of their vehicle to walk down the white carpet and receive their diplomas, then snap a few pictures before getting back into their car. Each graduate was allowed only one vehicle with family to watch. Another in-person graduation ceremony is in the works for July at The Forum River Center. The valedictorian for Coosa’s Class of 2020 is Emily Van Kleef and salutatorian is John Googe. You can see the complete ceremony via Facebook live below.

Today: Floyd County high schools’ drive-through graduation ceremonies. The individual high schools will have drive-through graduation ceremonies during the previously scheduled graduation dates and times. Graduating seniors will wear their caps and gowns and receive their diplomas. Only one vehicle per student will be permitted. Principals will reach out to seniors and their families with specific instructions for these events. Pepperell’s ceremony was Friday, while Armuchee and Model had events earlier today.
