Today’s updates: Peachtree Road Race moves from Independence Day to Thanksgiving. Here’s hoping those race T-shirts have long sleeves this year.

From the race website:

“The AJC Peachtree Road Race has been a 4th of July tradition in Atlanta since 1970. At Atlanta Track Club, we had hoped that the conditions around COVID-19 would improve enough to continue that tradition in 2020. After consultation with health experts, we have determined the race must be postponed.

“Consistent with guidance we will receive from health experts in the fall, the 51st Running of the AJC Peachtree Road Race will take place on November 26, 2020 – Thanksgiving Day. The Peachtree is about community, family, fitness and fun and we believe holding the race on a day that brings families together preserves one of the event’s most precious traditions.
