THE LATEST

Several Floyd County roads closed because of flooding. Public Works Director Michael Skeen says they are:
  • Thomas Bluff – near County line.
  • Collier Road – south end, 100 block.
  • Old River Road – between Hwy 20 and the boat ramp.

The Oostanaula River in Rome has crested and is beginning to drop; flood stage is 25 feet. The gates are closed at this time.

Flood warnings are up for Armuchee Creek, the Coosa (Lock and Dam as well as Plant Hammond), the Oostanaula River near Calhoun as well as Resaca, and the Chattooga River near Summerville. Click here for expanded reports.
