Floyd County Schools and the Atlanta Community Food Bank are hosting a pop-up food market at Grizzard Park Wednesday afteron. More than 500 people preregistered and many were in line at 4:45 p.m.
A regular offering from county schools and the food bank, each family goes home with around 50 pounds of food including fresh fruit and veggies, dry goods, bakery items, dairy, meats and other needed items. There are never income levels or other requirements.
Participants had to stay in their cars; a volunteer put food in your trunk or in the back seat or hand it through a window.
