Buzz: 222 homes sold in Floyd, Bartow, Gordon counties combined last month in a mixed report for area Realtors. New U.S. 41 clover leaf bridges expected to go into service today.

A mixed February report for home sales in Floyd, Bartow and Gordon counties last month. Both Rome/Floyd County and Bartow County saw a dip in home sales while Gordon County posted a 68 percent surge vs. the same month in 2019.  Floyd and Bartow saw increases in the average sales price vs. 12 months earlier while Gordon saw a 6.8 percent drop. Bartow led the market with an average sales price of $215,000 vs. $178,000 in Gordon and $173,363 in Rome/Floyd County.

Greater Rome | February 2020

  • Total single family home sales: 80 (6.7% decrease)
  • Median sales price: $154,105 (27.5% increase)
  • Average sales price: $173,363 (13.79% increase)
  • Total active listings: 300 (9.9% decrease)
  • New listings: 109 (14.2% decrease)
  • Month’s Supply: 2.9 (19.4% decrease)

  • Total single family home sales: 100 (1% decrease)
  • Median sales price: $199,000 (2.6% increase)
  • Average sales price: $215,000 (0.9% increase)
  • Total active listings: 259 (13.1% decrease)
  • New listings: 73 (20.7% decrease)
  • Month’s Supply: 2.0 (16.4% decrease)

Gordon County | February 2020

  • Total single family home sales: 42 (68% increase)
  • Median sales price: $159,000 (0.6% decrease)
  • Average sales price: $178,000 (6.8% decrease)
  • Total active listings: 113 (16.9% decrease)
  • New listings: 32 (no change)
  • Month’s Supply: 2.4 (26.3% decrease)

Georgia DOT: Shift begins to new U.S. 41 bridges. This note Tuesday afternoon — “We will be shifting traffic on the Highway 41 clover leaf to the permanent bridges tomorrow morning, weather permitting. Please slow down and use caution as you drive through the area.”
