A 38-year-old Cartersville woman has died following a Thursday morning collision with a semi-tractor trailor on Old Mill Road at Charley Harper Drive, according to the Georgia State Patrol:
Vehicle 1, a Chevrolet driven by Shantee Tania Rogers, was traveling south on Charley Harper Drive. Vehicle 2, a Freightliner driven by Andres Santiago Salazar of Cartersville, was traveling east on Old Mill Road.
Rogers failed to stop at the intersection of Old Mill. The right front of her car made impact with the front of the semi. Rogers was not wearing her seat belt and was ejected. The Chevrolet came to an uncontrolled stop against the curb on Old Mill Road facing east. The truck came to a stop near a private drive at the Hannah Apartments.
Rogers was taken to Cartersville Medical Center; Santiago Salazar was not injured.
Services for Ms. Shantee Tania Ajeanette Rogers are sheduled for Thursday, March 12, at 11 a.m. at the Adairsville Body of Christ Church with Bishop Kenneth Benham as eulogist. The family will receive friends at the church from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Willis Funeral Home Inc., Dalton.
Ms. Rogers was preceded by her grandparents, Timothy “Mack” Dew and Evelene Dew, Dorothy Rogers Crenshaw, Mary Bennett, and uncles, James Thomas Rogers, Douglas “Doug” Dew, and Erskin Dew. She was a Specialist of The United States Army National Guard.
She is survived by her parents, Larry Rogers of Calhoun, Georgia and Carolyn Evelene Dew; sister, Michele Rogers of Cartersville, Georgia; brother, James Dew of Dalton, Georgia; honorary sister, Michelle (Jesse) Williams Yoder; aunts, Donna Renee Rogers, Debra (Jon) Pourquoi, Doris “MiMi” Crenshaw, Hilda (James) Simpson, Dora Elkins, Georgia Arlene Simpson, Melinda Taylor, Shirley Benham, Diane Dew, Edna Dew; uncles, Raymond (Lillie) Bennett, Joe (Barbara) Bennett, Keith Bennett, ; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
