Polk Schools: Two-hour delay Friday


Other schools: A reminder that Floyd County and Rome City schools are closed Friday and Monday for winter break.


From Floyd County Public Works, 3 p.m. Thursday update. The following roads remain closed
-Thomas Bluff Road – 900 block near County Line
-Collier Road – access past 100 block should come from the north loop
-Old River Road, between Ga. 20 and the boat ramp.
 -Plemons Road behind Wax Lake.
-We do have several other roads with high water so please drive with caution.
The City of Cedartown Public Works Department has closed the following roads due to flooding:
– Cave Spring Road between Evergreen Lane and John Hand Road
– Furnace Street at Charles Street
– College Drive at Worldview Church between John Hand Road and Ever Green Lane
Gordon County road closures as of 10 a.m.
Cook Rd, River Bend Rd. from Thomas Bluff Rd. to Cutoff Rd, Sam Hunt Rd, McDaniel Station, Water Tank, Beamer Bottom, Langford Rd, Beamer Circle Rd, Thomas Bluff Rd, Miller Ferry Rd, Mauldin Rd SE.

  • Cartersville: 3.93 inches.
  • Calhoun: 2.88 inches.
