Get ready for more Italian in Rome and Cartersville.

Fazoli’s is coming to both communities later this year and franchisee Amit Patel of Cartersville has picked two hots spots:

  • In Rome, add another notch to the East Bend tenant scorecard as Fazoli’s is looking at May or June on “outlet no. 1” off the Hicks Drive portion of the complex.
  • In Cartersville, the restaurant will open at 21 S. Dixie Ave. That address will sound familiar as it is a few blocks south of the Chicken Salad Chick which is replacing the former Wendy’s/Chicken World venue (200 N. Dixie Ave.) He’s looking at a mid-April time table.

Fazoli’s, with 220 restaurants in 28 states, describes itself as “America’s largest Italian elevated quick service restaurant chain, serving freshly prepared pasta entrees, “Submarinos” sandwiches, salads and pizza.” Here’s a link to a sample menu (this one from Lexington, Ky.)

For East Bend, it brings the confirmed restaurant total to five. They are: Panda Express, McAlister’s Deli, Texas Roadhouse and Chipotle. The confirmed retail lineup includes Five Below, Discount Tires and Kohl’s definitely is looking as plans are under review at the building department. Ledbetter Properties has 20 to 28 retailers and restaurants planned for the 20 acres that once were home to Kmart, a convenience store and small strip center. All are due this fall.
