More brunch in downtown Rome: Starting Feb. 15, Rome City Brewing Co. will add brunch service on Saturdays from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Hillery Sawyer of Speakcheesy’s Hoptimist on Broad added Sunday month last year and is expanded to Saturdays. Today: National Wear Red Day. Wear you best red for Heart Disease Awareness & Prevention and join us at Truett’s Chick-fil-A – Rome on Shorter Avenue from 7 until 9 this morning. Redmond Regional Medical Center teams will be onsite offering AngioScreens by appointment for a one-day-only rate of $60; offered from 6:30 until 10 a.m. It’s a 10-minute screening that could potentially save your life. Redmond also will be offering free heart health information and many other giveaways, while supplies last. You can even see demonstrations and learn how to perform Hands Only CPR.


Berry College will host an Eco Fair Saturday (Feb. 8) in the Krannert Center Ballroom. The purpose of the Eco Fair, which is from 5 – 7 p.m., is to promote eco-conscious living and highlight local environmental efforts. The fair will involve over 30 organizations including local vendors and Atlanta activist groups. The organizations will promote environmental causes, sell products that align with an eco-conscious lifestyle and discuss their work. Organizations include Climate Reality Atlanta, the Davies Shelter Garden, 350 Atlanta and more. A few of the vendors include Elder Moon Botanicals Herbal Remedies, Zoapo Artisan Co. and Sunflour Community Bakery. The Eco Fair is sponsored by the Students Against Violating the Earth (S.A.V.E) club, Berry’s environmental club. Other Berry organizations will participate including Green Team, Season’s Harvest and Canterbury Club. This event is free and open to the public.
