Bids are due at 5 p.m. Feb. 20 on the Panda Express coming to East Bend off Turner McCall near the first “cut” into the former Kmart site (closest to Cooper Drive), according to documents posted by LDI Line. Candito Construction has the project. Based on what’s available online, here’s what we know:

  • 2,290 square feet under roof.
  • Indoor seating for 68 people.
  • No outdoor seating.
  • Three workers per shift; two shifts per day.
  • The building will run parallel to Turner McCall with the drive-through lane closest to the highway and parking behind the restaurant.

Earlier records from the building project show the company has secured a permit valued at $800,000. The address is listed at 1421 Turner McCall Blvd. It was the first permit issued for the East Bend development, expected to be home to 20 to 28 retailers and restaurants. Confirmed tenants including Five Below, Discount Tire, McAlister’s Deli, Texas Roadhouse and Chipotle. Most are due to open late summer or early fall.
