Where’s the beef? On the way back to Cedartown: Wendy’s Old-Fashioned Hamburgers is returning to Cedartown. The franchise has picked a site on land that sits off U.S. 27, between Walmart and Zippy’s Car Wash. Wendy’s previously was at 302 N. Main St. It is the second fast-food spot to target the western side of Polk County of late. Also new in downtown: Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen.
This is a busy time for Cedartown with the tobacco shop/bar coming (from Wednesday) and the ever-closer return of Moore’s Soda Fountain.
But then there’s still room for the “veteran” businesses out there, including the below: Holmes’ celebrating 125 years in Cedartown.

Our kind of collaboration: No business group in the region is hoter than the Greater Rome Existing Industries Association with a series of huge announcements that had brewed for several years and finally hit pay dirt — both multimillion-dollar deals with International Paper and Ball Corp. in Floyd County. Below is an example of the growing collaboration between GREIA and partners such as Floyd County’s College and Career Academy.
