The 2019 Christmas Tree ‘Cuts’ collection is under way at Home Depot in Rome. Hometown photo.

It is the season of Christmas trees adorning car and SUV roofs or the back of pickup trucks. Anyone on the road Friday through Sunday, saw the familiar images of families bringing home cut trees from Silver Creek Christmas Tree Farm, Christmas Tree Village across from State Mutual Stadium, Home Depot or other spots around the area. With a short turn-around time between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year, much of the just-ended holiday was spent prepping for the Christmas celebration. Among the new “favorite” reminders of the season is the display at Home Depot in Rome where the “cuts” from just-purchased trees are hung on a display board with family names, Christmas greetings or other messages (we kind of like the smile almost dead center in the above photo). Level Up Arcade at 216 Broad St. has apparently closed. (Google map image)

Level Up Arcade has apparently closed on Broad Street. The lights were out and all equipment moved out of the building at 216 Broad Street as of Friday. A call to their number on Saturday said the phone was “out of service”. The arcade moved to Broad Street last November after a short, successful run in West Rome off Redmond Road.
