The answer is: Three restaurants.
The question: What has been confirmed so far for the East Bend development rising where Kmart was in East Rome?
We get asked that question almost daily and the latest reports from the building department confirm Texas Roadhouse is building a $750,000 restaurant, one of the 20 to 28 tenants Ledbetter Properties hopes to lure to Turner McCall and Hicks Drive by this time next year.
Texas Roadhouse has long been rumored to be among the restaurants expected in the outparcels of the development. Repeated calls, emails and messages to the company have not been returned. But the buliding permit issued Oct. 30 shows the overall cost of the restaurant. Click here for the menu.
Two other tenants have been confirmed:
- Panda Express by way of a building permit issued Oct. 3. Construction value was set at $800,000 with an address of 1421 Turner McCall Blvd. Previous story.
- Chipotle Mexican Grill by way of corporate response to an email from Hometown Headlines. The restaurant is due sometime next summer. Previous story.
Still unconfirmed at this point are the following: Discount Tire, Five Below, Old Navy, Tropical Smoothie Cafe. Ledbetter already has relationships with Discount Tire and Tropical Smoothie at its Cartersville centers.
And that still leave at least 20 other retailers and restaurants identified as potential occupants by the Ledbetters.
