Justus Edwards’ miracle walk now viewed more than 1 million times: The Berry College football player who sustained a major spinal injury in a game in September 2018 was videoed walking to the spot of that injury this past Saturday. The video was quickly shared by the Centre College sports information department.

It was picked up by CBS Sports, ESPN and others. Wednesday morning, it had recorded more than 1.03 million views and nearly 60 percent of those were because of the ESPN post. It picked up 100,000 views overnight as it was at 936,000 views when we checked Tuesday evening.

Justus’ story is worth that huge audience and then some. This young man defines the word courage.

In September 2018, the Berry Vikings’ Justus Edwards sustained a spinal injury in the game against Centre College. Throughout his recovery, the Vikings have been with Edwards and he with them as rehabilitation efforts continued. The prognosis: He was given a 20 percent chance to walk again.

That’s why on Saturday, Edwards stunned most everyone when he walked to the exact spot on the field where he was injured 14 months ago. Keep in mind his playing number: 14.

The event was captured on video and already is getting thousands of views. The impact is perhaps 10 times that.

Edwards’ coach, Tony Kunczewski, said it best Saturday evening in this Tweet:

Tony Kunczewski @BCCoachKJustus is an inspiration to all he comes in contact with. Thanks @CentreFootball @CentreAthletics for allowing him to do this at halftime. You are a class program.

And then there are these words from teammate Mason Kinsey (above with Edwards):
@MasonKinsey87: “If y’all only knew the half. This man is an inspiration to me every day. In my walk with God, on the field, and being a man. This guy has the potential, faith, and work ethic to make a permanent impact on this world. I love you forever brother and I’ll always live #14Strong.”
