An earlier look at what’s under way in downtown Cartersville.

Drowned Valley Brewing Co. sets soft opening for the Wednesday before Thanksgiving: Here’s a great way to start the holiday weekend. The guys behind Northwest Georgia’s newest craft brewery have set a soft opening for noon until 10 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, at the new brewery at 4 Tennessee St. What’s planned: Food truck, live music and craft beer brewed in Cartersville. For the latest updates, please click Drowned Valley.

What you’ll find as Drowned Valley opens:

  • A tap room  with darts, corn hole and other games.
  • Space for food trucks; guests also are welcome to bring their own favorites with them to pair with Drowned Valley’s beers.
  • A dog friendly atmosphere.
  • Eventual plans to expand carryout and distribution service.
  • Founders Dean Kimberly and JD Dean have been working with Rome City Brewing Co. partners Jay Shell and Dr. Trent Prault and bought RCBC’s original brewing system as the Rome brewer expanded into larger quarters at 333 Broad St.
