POWER RESTORED: Service has been restored to East Rome following an outage that occurred around 5:30 Friday morning. All clear as of 7:30 a.m. It appears the morning gusts sent a limb onto a powerline, triggering the outage.
At least 900 customers are without power Friday morning because of an outage that extends from Riverside Parkway through East Rome and Turner McCall. Georgia Power’s outage map (above) shows the area of concern. And most concerning is the morning commute on Turner McCall and Second Avenue, including nearby schools. Georgia Power lists a 7:30 a.m. repair estimate.

We’ve scanned traffic cameras at Turner McCall and Eighth Avenue, at Riverside Parkway and at Second Avenue and Riverbend; no major delays as of 6:50 a.m. We have notes into Georgia Power regarding the cause and perhaps a better ETA on repairs.
Saint Mary’s Catholic School reports it has power this morning and no changes in the daily schedule.
