Floyd Fights Hunger: United Way’s second annual event packs 64,364 meals to be distributed in Rome and Floyd County

A huge turnout for Saturday’s second annual Floyd Fights Hunger event and a record 64,364 Meals of Hope packed and ready to be distributed throughout Rome and Floyd County. A project of the United Way of Rome & Floyd County, the original goal was for volunteers of all ages to help pack 60,000 meals. Some 300-plus volunteers showed up to help on Saturday including representatives from local schools, businesses, churches and government agencies.
