Mr. William Lawrence “W. L.” White, age 84, of Lindale, GA, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2019, in a local hospital
Mr. White was born in Lindale, GA on July 27, 1935, son of the late Raymond Benjamin “R. B.” White and the late Annie Louise Palmer White. Mr. White had been a resident of the Lindale community for several years. He had been associated with the Colonial-Big Star, then Piggly Wiggly, retiring after over 50 years in the food store business. Mr. White was a veteran of the U. S. Army, having served during the Korean War. He was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church where he had served on the Board of Deacons.
Survivors include his wife, the former Glenda Fay Goodwin, to whom, he was married on February 16, 1962; 2 daughters, Tanya White (Pedro Gomez), New York, NY, and Kelly Pogue (Drew), Pensacola Beach, FL; a brother, Von White (Joan), Silver Creek; 2 grandsons, Mark Fisher (Kenda) and Ted Fisher (Lauren) ; great-grandchildren, Payton Fisher, Sadie Faye Fisher, Ethan Fisher, and Nash Fisher; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2019, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel. The Rev. Ronnie Sweat and Mr. John White will officiate. Interment will follow in Rome Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home on Saturday from 3pm until time for the services.
