Sign’s up at Little Caesar’s in East Rome: With an opening expected in the next few week, motorists on Turner McCall are tracking the daily progress of the stand-alone Little Caesar’s pizza shop. This week, the new sign went up for the carry-out and drive-through location. Hirnig continues as well; please see Snag-a-Job for details on crewmember positions. Sought are full- and part-time workers 16 and older. Pay: $7.25 to $9.25 an hour.

In an earlier conversation, Michael Lover of Quantum Restaurants of Chattanooga says of the opening date “should be by the end of October.”

The former location off Hicks Drive closed in late June 2018 to make way for the East Bend retail-and-restaurant development under way in and around the former Kmart site. The new location, at 1710 Turner McCall Blvd., will have services similar to the West Rome location off Shorter Avenue.

Order up: Philly cheesesteak on the way? That’s the current buzz as two restaurant are scouting locations in Rome. One concept, 3-26 Philly, was part of the Miniyar food court in the Cotton Block in 2017 and into 2018. These are different ventures and we’ll have more as the contracts are signed. They’ll have competition as they open, especially with what Sam Edwards does at Sam’s Burger-Deli in Armuchee. Next time you’re there, ask Sam about the ingregients; you’ll like what you hear.
