Northwest Georgia’s second craft brewery is expected to open in November. Drowned Valley Brewing Co. is just about ready at 4 Tennessee St. in Cartersville and will greet customers with eight custom brews on tap.
Dean Kimberly, the owner and head of business operations, and JD Dean, owner and head brewer, joined us on The Druck Report podcast to highlight how they grew their love of craft beer from an idea to what is about to become a destination in downtown Cartersville.
Dean, an award-winning home-brewing veteran, says he knew he wanted to make his own soon after having his first beer. Together and with some additiional partners, they’ve given new life to the former Cartlon Building at 4 Tennessee St. In addition to the brewery, it will be home to:
  • A tap room complete with darts, corn hole and other games.
  • Space for food trucks; guests also are welcome to bring their own favorites with them to pair with Drowned Valley’s beers.
  • A dog friendly atmosphere.
  • And eventual plans to expand carryout and distribution service.
Kimberly and Dean are working with Rome City Brewing Co. partners Jay Shell and Dr. Trent Prault and even bought RCBC’s original brewing system as the Rome brewer expanded into larger quarters at 333 Broad St.
They joined us recently at Brand Red Studios to talk about craft beer and what’s next. We thank Brand Red for their production support of our long-form podcasts and Todd LaBerge for another excellent job producing this conversation. The Druck Report is a production of Hometown Headlines Inc.
