Buzz: Kiwanis Club of Rome sellings pecans just in time for Thanksgiving. Floyd County Police Department’s 10th annual golf tournament is Nov. 1, to benefit Elevation House.

The Kiwanis Club of Rome is peddling some of the world’s finest Georgia-grown pecans. They will arrive just in time for that pecan pie to be baked and enjoyed around the Thanksgiving table with family and friends. The cost is $12 per one-pound bag. The order deadline is Nov. 1 and the delivery is on or before Nov. 15. All proceeds go to fund the Kiwanis Club of Rome student scholarships. Last spring, the Kiwanis Club of Rome awarded $9,5000 in scholarships to local students. Details: Keith Mickler /  kdmickler@gmail.com
