OUTLOOK

Monday tied the old Rome record of 98 set back in 1904. Cartersville set a record of 97, beating 94 degrees from Sept. 30, 2006.

We’ll come close to a few records Wednesday and Thursday and then see temperatures drop to the mid 80s for the weekend.

FORECAST

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 94. Heat index values as high as 99. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 69. Calm wind.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 96. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 69.

Thursday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 97.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 68.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 91.
