Radio station WZQZ 99.1 FM and AM 1180 reports Renee Lanham, known for her work at Hair Benders in downtown Rome, has been indicted by a  Chattooga County Grand Jury on “murder charges in connection with the shooting death of her husband over two years ago.”

According to the report:

Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader said that investigators with his office and from the GBI had interviewed Renee Lanham, 52, on several occasions since her husband was found dead in their home on Butler Dairy Road on Sept. 18, 2017.  When law enforcement arrived, they found Edward Earl “Eddie” Lanham, 75, dead from a gunshot wound.  In the weeks and months that followed … Schrader says that there were problems with Susan Lanham’s story about the night of her husband’s death.  Ms. Lanham had told investigators that she had been “out” and when she returned home, she found her husband dead.  The GBI and Sheriff Schrader were quick to tell the public that they did not suspect the murder to be a random act and that Mr. Lanham had been targeted in the shooting.

Schrader told WZQZ News that he and his investigators believe the motive behind the shooting were “plain and simple greed and selfishness.”
