Woman airlifted with serious injuries after motorcycle and vehicle collide on Rome Bypass at Kingston Highway.

A woman was airlifted to a trauma hospital Saturday evening with serious injuries following a crash on the Rome Bypass at Kingston Highway involving a vehicle and a motorcycle. According to Floyd Police Officer Cody Lanier, the crash occured around 6:30 p.m. and shut down the bypass for short amount of time. A Jeep was traveling eastbound on GA Loop 1 and was attempting to turn left onto Kingston Highway. A motorcycle was traveling westbound on GA Loop 1 towards Highway 53. The driver of the Jeep turned in front of the motorcycle resulting in the crash. The injured woman was on the motorcycle. No other names have been released at this time. The crash is under investigation by Floyd County Police with charges pending.
