After a busy summer of helping those in need, The Salvation Army’s pantry is running low. Here’s how to help.

Media release: In August, the Salvation Army of Rome provided 1,500 meals to men, women and children at our Rome location.  That is an average of 50 meals per night for our community feeding and 12 to 20 breakfasts for our overnight guests.

Our Food Pantry provided 1,460 meals to 73 families.

The past several months has brought an increase in the number of people coming to us for dinner and to access our food pantry. We need your help to provide nutritionally sound, delicious and varied meals for our neighbors.

How can you help? These suggestions could be for an individual, a family, a club, organization, place of worship, farm, restaurants…..

  • Adopt a night and provide dinner for 50 guests, either cooked or ready to be cooked
  • Bless us with gleanings from your gardens and farms
  • Send us your favorite recipe that can economically be adapted for 50 meals
  • Help prep and serve meals.
  • Host a food drive
  • Hold us in prayer

Wish list: With three months to our annual Can-A-Thon,  our Food Pantry shelves are looking very sparse.

Your generous contributions help us provide nutritious food boxes  to over 50 families each month. We still have 200-plus boxes to go before the Can-A-Thon. Our immediate needs are:
