Media release: Coosa Valley Credit Union, Northwest Georgia’s largest credit union, is announces that CVCU President and CEO Andy F. Harris has been nominated for an IMPACT Award by the Cartersville-Bartow Chamber. The IMPACT Awards are designed to recognize emerging leaders within the chamber community. These individuals are leading the field in their line of work and are making a significant difference in their community through their service to others. Harris was nominated for his exemplary leadership, direction and passion for putting people before profits within the Northwest Georgia community.

In order to be considered for the honor, nominees must be under the age of 40 as of Sept. 30 and employed by a chamber member organization. They should be professional leaders who have demonstrated a strong record of innovation and outstanding performance. Final winners will be announced Nov. 5 at the Chamber’s Quarterly Luncheon.

Rome Floyd Planning Commission meets today at 2:30 p.m. in the Sam King Room at City Hall. Among the items up for review is a bid by East Bend LLC (Ledbetter Properties) to divide the 20 acres that had been home to Kmart and outparcels into six new parcels, all having community commercial zoning. It is regarded as a procedural step as demolition continues in advance to the new retail center off Turner McCall and Hicks Drive. Click agenda
