The Floyd County Democratic Party will hold its annual fundraising event, The Georgia Giants Dinner, on Sept 7 at the Cave Spring Community Center, 10 Georgia Ave, Cave Spring. The event will begin with a social hour starting at from 6 p.m. with dinner at 7.
The annual event raises funds to support the local party by increasing Democratic performance and improving Democratic participation. Funds also support our Democratic elected officials and help to organize voter registration and get-out-the-vote activities. Values such as social and economic justice are issues in which the local party strives to make a difference.
This year’s featured speaker is Dr. Andra Gillespie, Associate Professor of Political Science at Emory University in Atlanta. She is a regular panelist on GPB’s Political Rewind and has appeared on Atlanta’s local ABC, NBC, Fox, CBS, and PBS affiliates, as well as CNN, NPR and FamilyNet.
Tickets are $50 per person until midnight, Sept. 1; thereafter, they are $60. Several sponsorship levels are also available. Tickets are available for purchase online at www.fcdems.org. The event will also feature a silent auction.
